Media has become very abusive in that respect. The media's shooting itself in the foot these days. It wants people to go out and spend but it's also telling everyone it's dangerous to leave the house or talk to people. Then it feeds everyone a massive diet of remakes and regurgitations, which is fair enough... but if they're not coming out with new stuff now, what are they gonna remake in the future?! There's plenty of people screaming out to make new stuff - the internet's full of 'em, creating brand new concepts - but the bigger companies don't seem to be in touch with people anymore. I mean they must be in touch somehow because what they're making is selling enough to keep them going, but it's so obvious how they could be doing gangbusters right now and bringing in a whole new entertainment/social revolution. But they're dragging their feet with no clear vision. It's like how in the early 60's people were still getting used to owning family cars yet by the end of that decade there were humans on the moon. Decade's later and that's still as far as we've gotten. Without the vision and drive everyone seems to just stand still, waiting for someone else to do something. Yet when someone DOES do something, everyone knocks it down.

I love Lily Allen. In many different ways. How many ways? Would you say... 400 ways?

Wait, what am I talking about! I completely forgot we DO have a modern legend!
WEIRD AL YANKOVICH!
He's indie, he's weird, he's Hollywood and he's talented! He's got multimedia staying power... and he's a Transformer!
Legend!

We go from this:
To this:
"I have nothing but contempt for this court!"
