Wreck-Gar wll be one of the last new voyager class figure we will be getting from TF:Animated for awhile, well at least until the movie hoop la dies down any way.
Like most TF:A characters,Wreck Gar has his roots in the original toyline, comics and cartoon. He was first introduced in the origianl movie as the lader of the Junkions,a race (or byproduct of) transforming robots who comprised there bodies and limbs from spare parts and scrap metal from all cormers of the galaxy.
Wreck-Gar bears a striking resemblence to his G1 namesake in posture and colour scheme and even has that enthusiastic grin on his face as well s the tash and goatee. In TF:A ,Wreck gar transfoms into a rubbish truck, a great way to collect Scrap and unwanted junk, which he is fascinated by!
The truck is similar in scale to some of the Deluxes , and features forks at the front that are spring loaded for raising r lashing out in front.
The forks can also be placed above the cab.
The Shield/arm guards/blades can be stord in the compactor section of the truck, and can be revealed by sliding a button to bring them forward.
The robot mode like all TF:A toys is almost exactly like the animation model. He is as tall as Grimlock. He can move his head from side to side, and there is slight movemaent at the waist. Most of the figures articulation is in the arms and legs, the movement joints here are very similar to Ultra Magnus.
Wreck-Gar's arm guards/blades can be placed on both forearms, but can also be joined together and placed on either arm, quite similar to Movie Wreckage blade gimmick.
The only downside to Wreck-gar is that the backpack just hangs there, with the forks pointing down. If only the backpack had a compartment to place accessories or items( his G1 shield and Axe would have been a nice touch) had been added, it wouldnt seem so bad as kibble.
Overall, not a bad addition to the range, even if he resembles a Playmobil looking toy in truck mode.
