Continuing my decension into self loathing, I will continue. my Bumblebee theme today by reviewing the Generations 'War For Cybertron' Bumblebee. This is the figure to match the character in the recently released War For Cybertron video game released on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
For starters, he is a touch taller than most other Bumblebees with possibly the exception of HFTD Battle Blade Bumblebee. Here he is compared to Classic Cliffjumper.
Bumblebee's Cybertronian mode is sleek, smooth and is rather pleasing. It is predominantly yellow with some black accents at the front, a racing stripe down the middle and red pin stripes on the windows.
The vehicle is very compact as you can see here compared to Battle Blade Bee.
No vehicle kibble, nice.
Transformation is quite tricky and can be a little iffy in places. Voyager levels of complexity here which seems to be the thing for the Generations right now.
Robot mode has some nice features. no real changes from the vehicle colour scheme.
Hips are a touch hindered by the design of the back but it doesn't really get in the way. Knees and hip joints are as to be expected and give a decent range. The feet are a cause for concern as the can sometimes slip away from the wheel or the balljoint can come loose
His elbows are double jointed.
Along with the usual range from the ball joint in the shoulder can allow for this.
Bumblebee is equipped with a hand blaster and a flick out blade on each wrist. the blade function is not as fancy as the movie Battle Blade and can sometimes be a little tricky to stow away.
It's not a spectacular figure, there are problems with it but fans of the game might want this. It certainly isn't as good as Optimus Prime but I have seen much worse
Score
Vehicle 4.5/5
Robot 3.5/5
Overall 3.5/5
