Alright then, this is my first pictorial review of a toy, so I decided to start off with everyone's favourite yellow Camaro. So, lets begins shall we.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vehicle Mode
Not much to say about his vehicle mode, as with any Transformer toy that changes into a car. However, as always Bumblebee has update his vehicle mode for Dark of the Moon, so I will be discussing the changes made here.
At a glance, the first changes you notice are the spoiler and the window mesh in place of proper windows. Unfortunately, you cannot fold up the windows in vehicle mode, as the mesh and his arms leave very little room for them to fold up properly. No matter how it's done, it just cant be done properly. There's also the two stripes without strip lining that run all the way across the top of the car this time round.
The grill and hood have a considerable amount of remolding on them. The bumper has been lowered closer to the ground, so Bumblebee adopts a sort of low rider vehicle this time.
The back of the car is more or less the same as ever, with the exception of the spoiler of course. There are some nice paint details here too. As you can see the Chevrolet logo and license plate are painted silver, and he has some nice red lights too.
He has one mech-tech port on his roof. It's a spring loaded one, so it pops back up to fill the hole when the weapon is removed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Robot Mode
This time round, Bumblebee has many differences in his robot mode compared to previous versions of the character, which I will be covering. As you can see, he takes a lot of nods from the Battle Blades toy, but he is actually a new mold all together. He's a bit shorter, and as you can see, he just has regular arms instead of ones with a gun and an axe. He also has a new head mold, and the feet are considerably different.
His chest transformation is the biggest difference. Here he sports his new abdomen armor from Dark of the Moon. Also, as you can see, you can fold his windows down for robot mode, but I personally prefer them up.
The back doesn't differ too much from the Battle Blades figure. However, there is no slot for the hood piece, so the hood and roof sit a little closer to the body.
He has a good amount of posability on him. He has a ball jointed head, but its considerably hindered by how close his head is to his body. He has ball jointed shoulder, as well as hinge/swivel joints in his elbows. The hands are on a hinge joint. The fingers are fused, but the thumb has an individual hinge. He has a waist swivel, ball jointed hips, hinge jointed knees, and hinge joints at his calves and ankles.
His mech tech weapon flips out to become a weapon similar to Bumblebees built in weapon throughout the trilogy.
He has five mech tech ports in robot mode. One on the end of each forearm, one of each side of the hood piece that attaches to his back pack, as well as the one of the cars roof from before.
A quick comparison next to Battle Blades Bumblebee. As you can see, he is somewhat smaller than before, as are all of the Dark of the Moon figures. If you want to see comparison pictures of him with other figures, just leave a comment.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Opinion
In the end, this figure is pretty fun. He has a good amount of playability, a fun sized robot mode, a cool vehicle mode, and he's just over all fun. I think if you can find him, get the Battle Blades version, which is twice as good. If not, then this little guy is the next best thing.
Over all, I think he deserves 7/10, for the above reasons and the fact that he's a bit more size accurate compared to other figures then Battle Blades. Thanks for reading.
