I enjoyed Tropic THunder....except for all the Tom Cruise parts...i was cringing watching them, he is just to fake for me, in everything, including life! I hear ya there! That guy's wrecked his career. He used to be okay in some stuff but now all you can think of whilst watching him is "he worships space-gods! He worships space-gods!"I think that Scientology episode of South Park is a bit to blame...

I just watched Street Fighter; Legend Of Chun-Li.
My god.
It sucked harder than a mighty sucking thing with extra big suckers. It's one of the weirdest frickin' thing's I've seen in movies in aaages... a film that everyone said would be crap, that looked crap in the trailer and behind the scenes stuff... and actually was crap as a finished production!
I'm shocked stuff like this can happen in this day and age. It's like they took the character names and just made up their own 80's-style b-movie action flick. I kept expecting Dolph Lundgren to jump out with a shotgun or sommet.
Royally bad! Even the nice things I have to say about it are bad! The writing's atrocious - it's appallingly amateurish. Chun-Li has annoying voice overs throughout that sounds dumb and pompous. "I had to investigate Shadowloo's business dealings..." so she goes to an internet cafe and googles it. That's not investigating!
Ugh. Poncy piece of crap, it is! Bison's Irish for unknown reasons yet he was born and raised in Bangkok, the special effects are worse than a tv show, everyone's miscast...
Throughout the whole production stage everything they showed looked wrong. Usually in Hollywood the more it looks wrong at first the better it will be (TF movie looked awful 'til it actually came out!)... wha'happened?! Everyone saw it turning into shite... why did the filmmakers not listen?!
It's like a Uwe Boll movie but with lower production values.
Avoid it. Avoid it like herpes on a grandma! If you have to see it to know how dreadful it is, go ahead, but DO NOT PAY FOR IT! It's blimmin' bad. It's more like a low budget Tomb Raider-wannabe with the annoying one from Smallville. Like the producers said "we want a Tomb Raider movie... but with ninjas!" and someone else said "well let's use up Street Fighter! That's got ninjas in it!"
Bad. Bad bad bad bad bad!
BAD!

Speaking of seen-recently's, this is AWESOME! ;D Class! that was great, trying to figure out what parts went into making the Gen Lee, but some brillainat animation, and adecent use of the movie Jazz, even if it suffers the same fate!

'fraid not. DOA was lively fun with cute girls doing wacky stuff. It wasn't masterpiece theatre or anything but it was fun to sit through. The Chun-Li movie's nowhere near fun to watch. It's a direct-to-dvd movie that somehow ended up in cinemas. And I even liked the director's last game movie, Doom!

I was trying to figure that out too, its bot mode looks great! There's a making of vid too but it doesn't say what went into the making of the GL figure. There's even a shot of it in a box, though it's probably custom made. They did a great job on the sound and lighting on that thing. Best one I've seen in a while.

Finally saw No Country For Old Men. SAVAGE movie. Weird ending. Not too fond of the movie, but reckon Javier could take over as Joker in next Bat flick. Saw Watchmen over the weekend, actually liked it and so did most of the gang who saw it with me.I was only one who had read the comic, so was good to hear opinions from someone totally new, although 2 out of the 10 were expecting Xmen!!! plus i didnt mention to them that one of them is naked most of the time!Rorscarch and the comedian are the standout performances, as a movie id say it is good cos it is such a different medium to comics and books, but for sheer effort of putting nearly 90% of the comic series on screen ,ill give Snyder and crew 10 out of 10.

Saw Watchmen.
Liked it better than the comic, which is funny since it's nearly spot-on the exact same. There was a few changes in the movie but it was pretty much a literal full-on page-to-screen adaptation.
Just goes to show you can take something from one medium and translate it to another and it'll reach people the other medium didn't. Or else I just got stuff watching this that I didn't first time round reading the comic.

plus i didnt mention to them that one of them is naked most of the time! I was surprised they showed his neon mini-Manhattan onscreen so much! And there were a fair amount of other naughty bits too. Good for them. Definitely not one for kids.

Saw "My Name is Bruce" and "Gone Baby Gone" over the weekend. Bruce Campbell not withstanding, it's disappointing on all level. Really. And a couple of good one liners aside, it's not even that funny.
Gone Baby Gone is unbelievably good though. One thing I took from that movie, dont mess with Casey Affleck...like EVER!

As for Casey Afflek, is it dont mess with him as with Liam Neeson in Taken?
