Went to see Green Lantern last night.
My advice? don't bother. It's very , very disappointing.
It's like a movie that was written by committee, all over the place.
Also you will have to know your Green Lantern mythology to know what the heck is going on. It info dumps 60 years of backstory in the first 30 seconds (literally) and expects you to keep up from there.
Oa stuff is a lot shorter than the trailers would have you think and, honestly the special effects in that section look like Mass Effect 1 or the first gears of war standard. Not good enough for a blockbuster made today imo. I figure that is the part they cobbled together in the last few weeks when they did the extra €9m of effects.
Oh, and the main villain is a giant space turd. no other way to describe him.
Blake lively on the other hand looks cracking. but doesn't work as Carol Ferris (too young and should be shopping for handbags in a romantic comedy, not piloting a jet)

Yes I'm watching it too. Also picked up Ironclad on DVD and finally watched the last Harry Potter movie, now I can read the Deathly Hallows and give out about what was left out of the movie.

Rise of the the Planet of the Apes is one of the better films this year, along with Source Code.

saw real steel friday night, has a rocky 1 and 5 vibe about it, only better cs it involves robots knocking the shit out of eachother instead of sylvester stallone and carl weathers. only kidding. it does however have quite a drama to it with a major bad father/ son story

saw immortals over the weekend, seeing henry cavill kick some ass the old fashioned way before he dons the tights of the man of steel. tbh, of all the greek movies that have popped up since 300, i still prefer 300

it was a good fun movie, thing i have a problem with is in style movies like this, and spartacus on tv, are all stemming from the visual style of 300. in the 4 years since 300, its been over used.

seen In Time, am a big Timberlake fan regardless(waits for bashing lol) but he was pretty good in the movie, storyline is good and some good acting, cillian murphy's characters just never seem to be really fleshed out in detail. Still think Warrior is this years and probably one the best movies I've ever seen.
